about

Elysian Fields departs from the more traditional path Ben Noyes initially embarked upon as a music student studying everything from Bach to John Cage, Shostakovich to Charles Ives. He noticed at a young age a preference for the more complex range of colors the cello represents. His drive to expand that range of colors has moved him to explore jazz, hip hop, sound effects, rock, collaborations in both artistic, commercial and multi media presentations and projects.
In this solo project, Elysian Fields, Concerto for Cello and Electronics in 528 Hz Major, Noyes explores an uncharted realm that melds spiraling, solitary strings with a cosmic tidal aurality.
Elysian Fields was recorded live before an unsuspecting audience on November 21, 2021 at the Portland Conservatory Of Music, under the title "Transitions." A single-track, limited edition cassette will be released in Spring 2023.
